El Yunque Visitor Center, which gives us the flexibility
to offer more bird outing alternatives that you will not
find through other tour operators.
Why go east? Less driving, more birding!
In a productive day in the upland and lowlands of
El Yunque, we can have 14 of the 19 endemic birds
species (Tanager, Tody, Elfin-woods Warbler, Oriole,
Spindalis, Bullfinch, Green Mango, Emerald, Mango,
Amazon, Euphonia, Woodpecker, Lizard Cuckoo,
Adelaide´s Warbler, plus the Owl on nighttime).
Within a short drive from the Forest, we have the Vireo
and the Yellow-shouldered Blackbird. What about the
Nightjar? In recent years, confirmed sightings: Ceiba (2),
Luquillo (1), and Río Grande (1).
The minimum to guarantee the date, is two happy birders.
